Whilst he was in the United Kingdom, he attained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, U.K. (FRCOphth).He returned to Malaysia in 1995 and was appointed as Lecturer in Ophthalmology at the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, prior to starting his private practice.
