He was the visiting Surgeon at University of Maryland Medical Systems Baltimore USA in Robotics and Advanced Coronary Interventions. Instead of number of publications more than 50, its more than 80 now.

- After completing his MBBS from IGMC Shimla with meritorious academic record, Dr. Puri completed MS from PGIMER Chandigarh in General Surgery and MCh from PGIMER, Chandigarh in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. He has worked as Assistant Professor CTVS at PGIMER Chandigarh (till Nov 2001).

He is associated with International Clinical Research Projects as Principal Investigator / Co-coordinator and appointed honorary member of various International Organizations and Societies like Society of Heart Valve Disease and Research Advisory Board of American Biographical Center.
