Intervention indicated for patients with intracerebral lesions (tumors) of slow growth and affecting eloquent areas (areas of the brain that affect speech). Before the intervention it is necessary to perform a neuropsychological and functional magnetic resonance study. During the intervention, a craniotomy (opening of the cranial cap) is performed. Then the patient is awakened to perform an intraoperative stimulation that guides the neurosurgeons in resecting the lesion to functional limits (removing the tumor without affecting essential aspects in the patients like speech).
